A little concerned yesterday, our air-conditioning was productive.  We did some cleaning of filters and found that must have been the problem as today, it is working quite well, thankfully.
We will be harvesting some tomatoes this week, probably working them up this weekend.  Unfortunately, we have not had the crop we have been used to in the past; due to the early heat wave we experienced.  Carla thinks she will have a better idea of how much we will have this time around by Thursday evening.
Then we let the rest ripen on the vines and hopefully continue to produce more fruit for future work ups.
Genesis 1:27-30  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

My thoughts today are scrambled.  On the one hand I feel a need to think and write about the damage man has and is doing to God’s Creation.  On the other hand I am also looking at the condition of the world’s people today.  I am not sure this will make much sense to anyone, I am having trouble following my ideas myself, one of the reasons I write is to help me figure things out.  But usually I have a better sense of direction for myself.
Some of our problems come directly from not caring for our planet as God told us to, some of that comes from the greed of mankind in over harvesting valuable resources but, most of it comes from denying that God has any say over our lives.  Man looks at man as being the ultimate decider on anything that involves man – the world doesn’t want God to exist, let alone be involved in our world.

No one would ever call me a tree hugger, however, I do believe man has not fulfilled this command very well.  We have abused the land, we have abused the animals and the sea and we have polluted the air.  It is just one more indication as to how man has fallen away from God.
Our charge was to take care of the earth, and we haven’t done a very good job of it.  When the Europeans came to America the Indians had done a pretty good job of using the resources without destroying them, they respected the land and the fruits it gave to them – although they worshipped them instead of the Creator, in many ways the continent was much better off.
The Europeans didn’t have the same respect for those resources and as a result we have created much of the problems here on earth.  While both the Indians and early settlers understood that there was a God that created this earth and all that is in it, modern man has decided that it just happened and the respect for the Creator and His creation has been must be destroyed.
There is a need to take care of the earth and to restore as much as we can.  There are those that do it in such a manner they wreck havoc on others and in their zeal often create additional problems.  Forest fires are a good example, in Oregon we have had many forests damaged by beetles.
Removal of those infested trees would clean the area up and would take out what has become a tremendous fire hazard.  But government policies didn’t allow it.  If we had spent half the money of clearing these areas as we have sending firemen out to fight the fires they feed, we would have a healthier earth and a much lower cost of managing the forest, not to mention money from selling those trees going into the economy.
Too many of us are greedy, we want to have the best and often do not consider the costs, which make the other side more determined not to let anything deter them from ‘protecting the resources’ to the point they break laws in the process.
One of the reasons man was placed here, by God, was to care for His earth; His creation.
However, man has decided that God doesn’t exist and that man is solely responsible to himself.  It allowed the pollution to occur.
But, just as man has failed in his responsibility to God to take care of this planet, he has failed in looking to God to help heal the planet.
The theme, save the planet, places the creation above the Creator.
The world is so wrapped up in the desire to prove they are right and the other side is wrong – both sides – that we have gotten away from why we should care for the earth in the first place.
I was watching a documentary the other day and noted that the words, “In God We Trust” were in blazoned high on the archway above the entrance to a court house.  It is not an uncommon type of statement in many of our government buildings throughout the states.
Yet, there are those that deny this country one time credited God and thanked Him for His great bounty.   They want to erase and eradicate any mention of God in our history.  They are rewriting history to comply with their ideas, not with the founding fathers.
They are unabashedly overturning anything that they disagree with and label those that would contradict those actions as ‘haters.’
AND they are using the same tactics on ‘saving the planet.’
While we do need to re-evaluate how we are caring for this planet, we must take great care that doing so doesn’t become a matter of placing it above the Creator, God, Himself.
I believe all the turmoil that is being caused by the two factions and why we have so much difficulty in coming up with consensus in how we handle the land, is the same cause as the rest of our dissention, satan is alive and well and enjoying all of this; it just gives him one more thing to muddy the waters to try and discredit and destroy God.
I don’t know what the answer is, I do know that more than anything else, we need to proclaim Christ and to not be distracted by things that satan places in front of us.
That will be different for each person – each of us do have missions here on earth and for some that mission may be to try and get the world to understand why we need to conserve these resources.  However, no matter our passions, God must always come first.
Later, Art :-)
