Nice today, and the forecast is mid-70s with the next
couple of days reaching into the mid-80s, although it will probably we warmer
than that in the garden.
We thought we would be able to get the stakes in the
garden this weekend, but both Teresa and Ian aren’t feeling real well – so we
will do them later in the week. As long
as they are up by mid-May we will be fine, Carla says.
Wind is starting to pick up, it was quite until just a
few minutes ago, but it is a lighter breeze and not stirring up to much
pollen.
She has her fuchsias transplanted, hasn’t counted them
yet, but she has quite a few, not as much as a couple of years ago before she
lost them, but still quite a few. The
potatoes are starting to come up.
Her dahlias are also planted, although she has room for
more so she will probably get some. She
has a couple of rose plants to put in the ground, so she is busy – and loving
it.
1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish
foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of
God.
Why would God send His Son to live among us and then
force Him into sacrificing Himself on a cross?
Doesn’t make sense.
I wouldn’t do that with one of my sons – or daughters.
That is why so many people want to add other
requirements to getting into heaven. Or,
reject the notion all together, so they look for other ‘gods’ that just seem
more rational to them.
Then you have the atheists that proclaim there is no God
– and then work hard to shut up those that believe in Him, what are they afraid
of? If He doesn’t exist, then why should
they care what you and I say or do about Him?
We know that God wants all to be saved. Wants us to follow the directives He has laid
down in both the Old and the New Testaments.
We have seen His Holy Spirit work miracles with people
that we never thought would ever consider accepting Him.
AND, we have seen people that we would have sworn have
or should have accepted Him, only to find out they haven’t.
Some believe that they have done good works in their
life time and therefore should receive automatic acceptance into heaven. This
despite the fact they refused kneel down before Him and asking His forgiveness
accepting the death and resurrection of Christ as their surrogate for them as
their sacrifice.
God has laid out the process whereby we must be saved,
and when we opened our hearts and minds to His Holy Spirit we realized that
Jesus really was our Savior, He is the Christ God promised to give to his
wayward children.
Far too many want to analyze the process and can’t
comprehend that God really walked on this earth as a man, that He died on a
cross and then was raised from the death – they try to rationalize the process
when there really is no reason we can understand, without first placing our
trust in Him.
When we do that we suddenly understand the gravity of
our situation and the means to overcome it.
We understand that we are unworthy, regardless of our own ideas of
spirituality or being good, and that Christ died for us.
Each of us had an ah-ha moment, where we allowed the
Holy Spirit to speak to our heart and opened the door for Christ to come
in.
There may be some out there that the ‘foolishness of the
cross,’ is just that and they will never allow themselves to accept
Him.
But our concern is we don’t know which is which and who
knows but the Holy Spirit has given us the means to reach someone who others
thought were lost for all time.
but unto us which are saved
it is the power of God.
There are still billions of people in this world at this
moment that need to find out who God really is so the cross, as it is with us,
can become the symbol of God’s great love.
Later, Art :-)
