Carla has been playing in the
dirt, again. It is time to transplant
the tomatoes from the yogurt containers to the milk jugs.
We buy our milk in half gallon
containers, it is perfect to cut down and put the starting soil and then the
plants in them.
Today I drilled holes in the
bottom and cut the jugs just below the handle of about 70 of them. Will do some more either later tonight or
tomorrow.
When she is finished she will
have about 200 +/- (down from 300 a couple years ago) in her little green
houses. She has about 10 different
varieties and will plant at least 25 or more plants in her garden.
The rest she lets the girls
choose which ones they want for themselves then we give them away. Neighbors and two of my doctor’s offices love
to see us coming this time of year; her plants are well started and we have
never heard any complaints – course they are free, so........
Not sure if Teresa or Deed have
anyone waiting for them, or not, but there is usually enough to go around.
2 Samuel 6:15-16
So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark
of the Lord with
shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.
16 And as the ark of the
Lord came into the city of
David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David
leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him
in her heart.
Vs 20-23
Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal
the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king
of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of
his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth
himself!
21 And David said unto
Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before
thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the
Lord, over Israel: therefore
will I play before the Lord.
22 And I will yet be more
vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants
which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in
honour.
23 Therefore Michal the
daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her
death.
David was excited, he was
worshipping God; he was praising God for the return of the Ark and just couldn’t
contain his joy.
His wife, Michal, however
thought that what he had done was not dignified and not the way a King should
act in front of his people.
David made it clear to Michal
that he had done nothing wrong and that he would abase himself even more if he
could glorify God.
As a result of her criticism and
distain, Michal did not conceive a child – one of the critical ‘duties’ and
pleasures of Jewish women.
We don’t know if she ever
repented, but her sin forever banished her from motherhood.
I am not saying that we should
shout and dance before the Lord – although there is nothing wrong in doing just
that to give glory to God.
But far too many of us hide our
feelings for fear of being ridiculed as Michal did to David.
David gave her the perfect
response: It was before the
Lord, which chose me before thy
father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the
Lord, over Israel: therefore will
I play before the Lord.
22
And I will yet be more vile than thus,
and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast
spoken of, of them shall I be had in
honour.
For those
of us that are introverts it is harder, but if we feel we should say something
and do not do so because we are afraid someone will make fun of us, then we need
to pray for help overcoming that fear.
We never want to be ashamed of
our relationship with God – unless we are doing something detrimental.
Later, Art :-)
