I am a dog person.  Always have been, always will be.
Yet, for over 50 years now we have had cats – Carla is a cat person.
Through the years they have given us love and as a token of that love, they bring prizes to us see how well they protect us from the ravages of mice, gophers, squirrels, snakes, birds, lizards, and even moles.
Most of the time they just go about eating them – we have one cat who likes to bring her catch inside, place it on the dining room floor, call the other cats to her side and then eats it in front of them – she doesn’t share.
They eat their catches, except the moles, I don’t think they taste very good because after they catch them (and they are much fewer in number than when we first came up here) they bring them up from the garden and leave them, untouched, for us to deal with them.
We have had the rough and tumble cats that would take after dogs if they came into the yard and chase them off.
We have had those that literally climbed the walls and curtains in their play.
Most have been a source of companionship and entertainment, even for me, through the years.
They aren’t dogs, but they do express love and devotion to us, their servants.  I usually have one that for whatever reason decides that I need her care and special attention.
She is always wanting to nestle in my lap and those days that I am struggling, she seems to know and gives me even more attention.
Still not a cat person, much prefer dogs and especially the miniature schnauzers that have come into our lives, but it is always nice to be protected from the ravages of rodents.
Mathew 9:27-31 And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
30 And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
31 But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Two blind men ‘saw’ Jesus for who He is, the son of David, the promised Christ.
Why couldn’t the scholars of the day see Him that way?
Why can’t billions of people alive and trying to find a reason for their existence find Him today?
Why can’t people see the Creation in this world instead of attributing it to chance and evolution?
I have been challenged by some through the years telling me that men from other planets, came, placed man on the earth and were treated like Gods; that the whole thing is a sham.
My question always is – even is that is true, ‘where did they come from?’  No clear answer, just that our planet cannot be the only one in the great universe that has life on it.
Then the question has to be ‘then, how were they created?’
I still haven’t received anything like a credible answer – because there isn’t one.
To accept the Bible as the Word of God.  To accept the fact that it was God who created the universe, including the earth, and all that abide within it, means that He has a reason to demand our obedience and respect.
That is just too much for people who want to live their lives their own way, not troubled by a God who expects righteousness from His creation.
There is a quote, that many attribute to the Word of God, that says “There are none so blind as those that will not see.”
You won’t find it in the Bible – but it does have merit, and we all know those that refuse to accept what is clearly before them because they refuse to see the truth in it.
We become entrenched in our desires to live life our way; we refuse to acknowledge there is a God that demands to be heard and understood.
We look at God’s creations and come up with absurd reasons for it and cannot see His Hands upon them.
The blind men ‘saw’ the Christ, while the leaders of the Jews denied Him His due; they refused to see Him for Who He is.
To acknowledge that a common man could be the Christ was not their vision of who and what Christ is.
To accept Jesus’ teachings was to relinquish their control and their leadership role in the Jewish nation.
They refused to do as Jesus told them, search the scriptures – even giving them some of the sources where they should look.
They forgot that God often raised up men who would appear to be unworthy of His blessings, of His putting them in charge of His beloved people.
David, was one of those, a lowly shepherd, became the ruler of the Kingdom and the promise of God’s Redeemer would come from his lineage.
They refuse to acknowledge the evidence before them.  Just as the world does today.
Seeing with the heart is where we begin to understand who Jesus is and what He has done that we might live with Him eternally.
We need to pray for those that do not know Him to open their hearts to the Holy Spirit’s message to them so they start really seeing God.
Later, Art :-)
