Quiet day today. Carla got called in early for work and the
animals are all hunkered down where it is cool and shady. It is supposed to be a warm one again in our
neck of the woods.
Job 16:19-21 Also now, behold, my
witness is in heaven, and my record is on
high.
20 My friends scorn me: but
mine eye poureth out tears unto God.
21 O that one might plead
for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his
neighbour!
Job
19:25 For I know that my redeemer
liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the
earth:
Job went through some of the
most terrifying tests that any man has gone through before or since.
He lost all of his wealth and
all of his children. His wife wanted him
to do away with himself and his friends insisted that he was a sinner deserving
of his punishment.
But, Job stood fast, he believed
that God was still in charge and He still loved him. He knew that He had a live advocate that
would stand beside him and plead for him before God.
Job was one of the oldest if not
the oldest book in the Bible.
But through his suffering and
prayers we learn that God, even back then, assured him that there was a
redeemer. There was a man that would be
with him when his time came to face God; the man would plead for him as a
neighbor might plead for a friend; with passion and honesty.
That man would be an advocate
for Job.
We too have a witness in heaven,
who lives and will stand by us in our hour of judgement. Even though there is a record of all we have
done, both good and bad He will point out that we are His children and our sins
have been forgiven because of our acceptance of Jesus as our Savior.
1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.
And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the
righteous:
2 And he is the
propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the
whole world.
Thank you, Lord!
Later, Art :-)
