Since we have a cloud cover it
was warmer last night and thus far today.
I look out our windows and see
grey clouds all around us – but there is a stream of sunlight that is
illuminating the garden, nice touch.
To a degree it is now including
the top of Cherry Heights, but doesn’t have that great yellow golden
sunlight.
2 Peter
3:2-5 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken
before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the
Lord and Saviour:
3 Knowing this first, that
there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own
lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the
promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly
are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth
standing out of the water and in the water:
Verses 17-18 Ye therefore,
beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away
with the error of the wicked, fall from your own
stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and
in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now
and for ever. Amen.

Satan doesn’t care about man, he
only wants to defeat God and he does it by trying to destroy His Word and the
faith of His children.
As we look about us and see all
the things that man has created, buildings, automobiles, statues, books,
television, and all the fancy things that make life easier – and more
complicated – for us it is easy to be amazed.
For instance, computers have
done a number of things for us, we can communicate with loved ones at any time
day or night in a matter of seconds.
We can learn new things and
experience, vicariously, the experiences of others without even having to leave
our home.
Scientists are learning more and
more each day about how our world operates, how the human body does the things
it does and how they can help a person heal from an accident or illness.
But where does all this
knowledge come from? Far too many
believe it is just another step up in the religion of evolutionary theory.
We can even ask a phone or
‘google’ that sits on a counter about how far it is to the nearest town and they
will answer. Or, what is the difference
between a whale and a dolphin, and they will answer. Seems it is the modern day Britannica – or is
it like Wikipedia, where anyone can enter data whether or not it is true?
We see commercials where someone
is asking for certain data or information on these devices and act as if that is
the only word on the question.
But who is providing the
information and how accurate is the information. We know that the world’s ethics has a lot to
be desired if you want honesty and forthrightness.
People put things out there for
their own amusement or to lead people down a primrose path that ends in turmoil,
at its minimum and who knows at the maximum.
We see phony news pieces on
social media, and what is scary, there are people who believe that and they pass
it along as true. Their sense of the
world is being twisted and torn right in front of their eyes and they don’t know
it.
We are ripe for being duped if
we don’t look at things with a jaundiced eye, we can’t just accept things on the
surface, we have to do our homework and check our sources, or we become one of
those that lead others astray with false information.
Even Christians, desiring to do
the best they can for Christ can be given bad information and then end up
spreading that information, thus taking the risk that not only are they wrong
and in danger of acquiring God’s punishment, but they are leading others to do
the same thing.
That is why it is so important
that we keep in touch with God. We need
to read His Word daily.
Yes, there are some challenging
verses that take a lot of time and research to fully understand, but the basic
principles God has laid down for His people are easily understood AND
followed.
If we challenge what we hear
using the Word of God, then we can discern for ourselves whether God is in this
new idea, thought, process or whatever else, and separate the scoffers and false
prophets from God’s ministers.
We are to use the whole Word of
God, not just the New Testament; That ye may be mindful of the words which were
spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of
the Lord and Saviour:
The Bible is a wealth of helpful
information, information that will guide and teach us, even in our secular parts
of the world.
Ye
therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also,
being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own
stedfastness.
18
But grow in grace, and in the
knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for
ever. Amen.
We have the correct information
and God expects us to use it, if we do not we will be held accountable.
Later, Art (-:
