Last day of the year, fitting that it has a beautiful sky, clear views of the mountains, and below freezing temperatures.
We are told to expect a wintery mix of snow and rain, weather man speak for slippery and dangerous conditions.
While I do not drink, I do not condemn those that will be welcoming in the New Year with an alcoholic beverage.  My only request is that if you do partake, ANY AMOUNT, that you have a safe way home, preferably at non-alcoholic drinking driver.
One of the worst things you can do for your family is to have an accident where you or someone else ends up in the hospital, or morgue on New Year’s Day due to your actions blurred by alcohol.
We will see you on the flip side.

“Of all persons the Christian should be best prepared for whatever the New Year brings. He has dealt with life at its source. In Christ he has disposed of a thousand enemies that other men must face alone and unprepared. He can face his tomorrow cheerful and unafraid because yesterday he turned his feet into the ways of peace and today he lives in God. The man who has made God his dwelling place will always have a safe habitation.” – AW Tozer
Psalm 90:1-2  Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.  KJV
In all this talk of needing ‘safe places’ when confronted with something that ‘freaks us out,’ I have yet to really hear that there is a safe place – for all believers – in God.
The world will do what satan wants, and he wants a cowering trembling heart afraid of all things that could calm it.
He show ‘new ways’ that a person can find peace, but only when they refuse to accept God’s help and deliverance.
Too many people feel that they are more intelligent, more in tune with the ‘universe’ by chasing after these new ways, and find that there are other new ways, and continue in the morass of satan’s messes seeking peace, but only finding fear.
All of us have fears at different times in our lives.  But, when satan amasses a force against a Christian, the Christian has the weight of God and the protection of His hand to lean upon.
We do not know what the rest of the day will bring, nor tomorrow, next week, next month or next year; but we do know that God formed the universe, and He is still in control IF we allow Him to work in us.
Psalm 91:2  I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Anyone who feels they truly need a safe place, need to look no further than God’s Word and trust in His power and authority to protect them.
Later, Art (-:
