Right now we are getting the prettiest tomatoes we have gotten in a long time from the garden.  Large, round and delicious.
Perfect for my favorite sandwhich.
Sky is bluer today, thought we might have some rain, but looks like it past us by.
Animals are happy they are lounging around outside, finding areas where they can rest and watch.  Comfortable in knowing they are safe and secure, the weather is mild and they are enjoying it.
Looks like we may only have one or two hummingbirds instead of the usual 3-5 who winter over, we will have to watch closer to see if that is the case.  Either way we will feed them through the winter.
Mathew 5:11-12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

The extreme persecution a Christian may suffer is that of death by a person targeting him for his belief – one of the things that happened in the Roseburg shootings; the shooter asked who were Christians and unleased his deadly barrage as they stood for Christ.
This same kind of thing is going on throughout the world, where Christians are a mark for their beliefs and people are not just satisfied with persecuting the, but deliberately attempting to kill them.
We never know when we are going to be the recipient of the rage of a person – for any reason.  Christians, of course are not the only ones who are needing to be aware of their surroundings, but in America, today, it is politically correct to belittle and mock the Christian – and Jews – and God and what we stand for as we adhere to Biblical principles.
There is a movement that is well funded and moving quickly against God, in America.  They have managed to define the terms of what is and what is not hate; what can be said and what cannot be said on almost any subject.
If you disagree with them you are immediately portrayed as a radical, a hater, a person who has no business speaking up for yourself or God.
This movement has been quietly laying the path to their ideas for several years using movies, television, social media, government and even our schools to fostered the idea that tolerance is what they say it is and not what the Word of God says.
For them, it doesn’t matter what a Christian says – the minute he proclaims himself a Christian they use synonyms to reflect who they think he is – hater, ignorant, foolish, old-fashioned – and rather than listen to rational reason, they choose to shout us down.
Those that don’t really feel that way are hounded into submission by challenging them on every turn so they are afraid to speak out.
Even Christians try to modify the Word of God to fit this new social norm.  To make it seem like God is okay with the world’s standard of conduct and He loves us so much He will overlook our veering off the path so that we don’t get persecuted.
Compromises are being made every day, and they are getting worse every day.
Paul is real clear on the subject as he wrote to the Colossians.
Colossians 2:6-8    As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Too many Christians are letting the world dictate their relationship with God, instead of following the Holy Spirit and His Word to guide that relationship.
We must take great care not to follow those that would change the Word for the sake of ‘getting along.’  Christ didn’t and neither should we.
