Not feeling very well today,
A-fib has kicked in along with some other ‘stuff’ going on in the body – it will
pass and I will be okay in a day or two; usually am. Just have to take it easy and trust God to
take care of it.
That may be why I am a little
more morose this day. This is the day to
celebrate our independence as a country, yet we find that the country is taking
God out of our lives and installing government instead.
Not a good thing.
Psalm
33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the
Lord; and
the people whom he hath chosen for his own
inheritance.
As a nation, we are not God’s
chosen people – only the Israelites have that distinction.
But as a nation, founded on the
many Biblical truths, we have always been blessed by God – we have never been
perfect, but the ideals have always carried us forward.
We looked at Nazi Germany and we
said, never.
That leaders made a concerted
effort to remove the God of the Bible and instead the people were to consider
the government in His place.
We looked at communism and we
said, never.
The leaders made a concerted
effort to remove the God of the Bible and instead the people were to consider
the government in His place.
Both forms of governments have
been proven ineffective – the greed of man and the desire to rule without God
turned their countries into torture chambers for those that followed God and
anyone else the leaders marked as enemies.
We looked at the desire of those
to destroy God’s influence on our country and said never. But:
God is no longer allowed in our
schools.
God is no longer allowed in our
public places.
God is no longer allowed to
define marriage.
God’s people are being called
bigoted and hateful as they stand for God’s Word and principles.
We said, in America, we are free
to worship as we choose – now we are being told that the Government will tell us
what we can say and not say as we worship and preach God’s Word.
God’s churches, leaders and
people are under attack; in America.
The government has taken over
the tasks that are the responsibility of the Church, feeding of the poor, taking
care of the sick and elderly, helping the needy and orphans, but it has come at
the price of denying God’s providence in our lives.
In Nazi Germany millions upon
millions of God’s people were killed because they were God’s chosen – and
hundreds of thousands of Christians, were also incarcerated, tortured and
killed; particularly those that helped the oppressed.
In Russia even more millions
were killed as the Communist leaders destroyed all opposition to the states
stand – many of those were God’s chosen and God’s Bride.
In China even more millions were
killed for the same reason.
Each of those nations supplanted
God’ laws with man’s rules.
We deplore what has and is
happening in those countries. We deplore
what is happening in the Middle East.
We thought never in
America. Yet we see disturbing new laws
and Christian activity being labeled unlawful.
Is America is on track to do the
same thing?
Will the incarceration, torture
and death of those who stand on God’s Word come about?
I don’t think we can say,
never.
We are already seeing people
lose their homes and ability to make a living because the government says they
cannot live their Christian faith and continue in business. They are being heavily fined and if they
don’t pay – what is going to happen?
But the one thing that the Nazis
and Communists – and now those in America who think that they are destroying God
- didn’t count on was that God will never be cast out. There will always be those that trust Him,
preach His Word and help others to find the Salvation offered by His Son,
Jesus.
Under the oppressive regimes of
the Communists, Christ’s churches – even if underground – are growing and
millions of men and women are risking their lives to serve Him.
Even in the depths of prisons
where these men and women are cast aside in the hopes of stopping them from
sharing God’s Word, men and women are finding Christ, because His people
continue to stand on His Word.
We need God. We have never been truly independent – we
were dependent from the start of this country on God. And at one time it was recognized.
Now people are trying to change
that and love what they have seen thus far, denial of God. They want us to be dependent on the
government.
There is still time, in America,
for us to return to God and to allow Him to move among us and make us, as a
country, spiritually strong once again – but we need prayer warriors, leaders
and Christians who are willing to stand together for God, His Word, His Son and
His Holy Spirit.
Later, Art :-)
