Cooler today, with a promise of getting warmer through the rest of the week.  Wind, she is a blowin’.
Had my favorite sandwich yesterday, the tomatoes weren’t those bread size slices, but they were good with the bacon.
Not much else happening today.  All the animals are chilling out and I also needed some time to lay down, the wind has things in it my system doesn’t like.
Psalm 17:3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.
There it is again, that reference to 0-dark-thirty hours.
One of the things that humans seem to need almost as much as air and water is interaction with other humans.
You find solitary confinement used as a punishment for misbehaving in jail an effective one.  It makes the inmate have to deal with themselves and why they are there.
In time of war enemies have used solitary confinement to break down the prisoner, to make them more pliable for questioning.
They will let them go for days and weeks with the only human contact is with a guard who may or may not speak.
One individual has said, if you have to be alone, without contact with anyone, you better like yourself, because everything you have ever done is going to come back at you.
We are very vulnerable when we are alone.  Satan knows that and will use our isolation to play tricks with our minds.
But God knows that too, I used to try and fight those late night conflicts, now, I ask God to search my heart to help me deal with past problems or current doubts.  It has made a world of difference on those nights I do wake up and can’t sleep.  Those nights are getting fewer and fewer as I believe He is indeed cleansing me of my anxiety over past sins.
One of the advantages of those 0-dark-thirty conversations with God is a lack of distractions.  No noises, phone calls to interrupt, television, etc.
We get so filled with things we must do, that we don’t have time to be with God and enjoy our salvation.  So, those 0-dark-thirty moments can become a real blessing if we allow Him to control us.
The more time we set aside for Him; the more time we read His Word and meditate, the sounder we can sleep – He doesn’t need those 0-dark-thirty hours to get our attention.
Later, Art :-)
