In America, on this day of
Thanksgiving, may our Lord give you peace and comfort.
No matter our circumstances God
loves us and wishes to bless us.
Many will be alone today, but
God can help fill the hole in their heart and bring peace within.
Many will be in pain today, it
is the first time they have spent Thanksgiving without a special person being
there and knowing they will never be there again.
We never completely fill that
hole. It hurts and there is always a
void.
We have people who are suffering
from injuries or illnesses, and it is so hard for them to get ‘up’ for this and
other holidays.
We have people who are caring
for these people trying to make this a special day, while they too are hurting
for their friend or loved one.
We have people who have been
ostracized from family and friends, and they are hurting – wondering if they
will ever be together again.
We have people who are in our
jails and prisons, separated from family and friends and longing for their
freedom.
We have people who are so
depressed that they are thinking of ending their lives, hoping that the pain
will go away – and it is even more pronounced during this holiday.
All deserve our prayers for
them.
Our country has been broken and
torn for several years, the pain is coming to the surface on both sides, and
some have no way of dealing with their emotions, they are just overwhelmed.
Our country and our citizens
need our prayers for them.
I am thankful for my family, my
friends, my health – although it could be better, it is not that bad – the men
and women who stand between us and evil – Pastors, Christians, Military
personnel, law enforcement – men and women willing to risk their lives for our
safety.
I am thankful for those that
work with their hands, creating and building things that make my life
easier. For scientists that have
discover new ways to keep our bodies healthy and ways to help us overcome those
challenges that we face in our individual health problems.
God has given us so much to make
our lives more comfortable on earth, how can we not be thankful for His love and
mercy?
Colossians 2:6-7 As ye have therefore
received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in
him:
7 Rooted and built up in
him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with
thanksgiving. KJV
Of all the things we can be
thankful for, our salvation through Jesus Christ is the most important.
Everything else pales in
comparison.
Later, Art (-:
