Watching as
Carla slip slided down the driveway at a very slow speed and thinking, ‘we are
going to be under a winter warning from tomorrow night through Saturday
morning,’ this winter could get serious!
Forecast from Saturday on is warmer, at least for a bit.
Now, this
really is a winter! Yes, there are
drawbacks, but the reality of having all four real seasons, instead of a
makeshift fourth is nice. But, I do have
to admit I will not mourn the coming of spring.
Looking
around the living room I see all the animals that would much prefer to be inside
than out there – although they enjoy if for a bit of time. Especially Abby who will roll in it for a
bit, then the bare sidewalk and then heads back in. She is the one cat that much prefers the
outside, she follows Carla around like a dog as she works in the garden during
the other three seasons.
Carla will be
starting her plants shortly. Then all
the milk cartons we have been saving will be put to use after a couple of weeks
as she transplants them so they can go into the green houses.
Farmers. I love them.
I love their optimism and their desire to take care of their families
with hard work and soiled hands. They
are the one business that wholly depends on so much that is beyond their control
– yet, they feed not only THEIR families but the rest of us as well.
They are a
special people.

Exodus
27:1 And thou shalt make an altar of shittim
wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare:
and the height thereof shall be three cubits
KJV.
God was very
specific about how He wanted the altar made.
Why? After all the men who made this were skilled
craftsmen. Men capable of designing
something of this nature and then following the design; yet God was very precise
and detailed every part of the altar.
How long did
it take God to create our world and all that is within it?
The religion
of evolution declares that everything was by happenstance and it took over 5-6
billion +/- years to get to where we are now.
They cannot
accept that someone created the universe from nothing, while theories vary it
all comes down to the universe became because of an inert matter – there is no
explanation to where that matter, in whatever form, came about. I would think even it, if their theory is
true, would have needed to be created by something.
We know God
always was and always will be. Before He
started the actual creation of the universe, did He spend part of the time
planning each detail out?
When we look
at how complicated everything is in this world – we realize it goes beyond the
surface into such minute detail we still are discovering new things about all
within and around us.
As I read
this passage of scripture and how precise and exact God ordered the altar to be
built it doesn’t surprise me.
God created
an interactive world. We have plants
that are dependent upon animals to survive and vice versa. Plants create the oxygen we need to live and
we create the carbon dioxide.
They are
exact in their function – this process was planned and executed this way so that
both would survive.
Scientists
have found that a specific plant must be used by a specific animal and the
animal needs that specific plant to survive.
Yet, evolutionists declare that they both evolved to depend on each
other.
How? Which one came first? How long did it take to reach such a very
limited plant or animal?
God’s plans
for the altar give us some insight into His planning ability for this
universe.
Whether He
designed as He created or had the plans all set up for each day we don’t really
know, and frankly it doesn’t matter – the fact that we live in a world so
complex that with the invention of more and better equipment to get a peek into
that complexity tells us that it was not by accident, the Creator was precise
and knew exactly what He wanted and knew exactly how to Create it.
I can
remember walking the rail road tracks and making contact with the hobos. These men were quite creative when building
their shelters. They used whatever they
could find that would help them stay out of the weather.
However,
those shelters didn’t last long, weather and other things eventually destroyed
them. They were not safe and we lost one
of them because the stove he used to keep warm set fire to his shelter and he
was killed.
Even these
men would prefer to live in a shelter that was well made and followed a design
to withstand the elements and be able to last more than a few weeks.
While there
are a variety of reasons why they did not, we know that they strived to build
something that would help keep them warm.
But even in
their haphazard manner they had a plan, they knew how to create the walls; they
used discarded pallets, cardboard and wood to make it sturdier, they found tarps
to put over the walls to help keep heat in and moisture out. They built stoves out of large tin cans and
fashioned stove pipe out of discarded metal.
Those
shelters didn’t just happen, they were planned and created.
This world
didn’t just happen, especially with all the complexity and minute details
required to have even a small insect survive in this world.
The same God
that planned this universe out and created all that is within it is the same God
that wants to bring us into His family.
Even as He
knew that Adam and Eve would falter and sin, He planned a redemption for man and
when He was ready, in His time, He sent His only begotten Son to live, teach and
then die for us.
He has plans
for each of us. However, He leaves it to
us to either trust Him and follow His plan, or go to our own devices and suffer
the consequences.
I need to
remind myself, daily, that the Creator of this Universe has a specific plan for
my day. I need to seek His guidance and
wisdom as I go about it.
Later, Art
