1130 and in
our neck of the woods we are getting snow as the minutes progress the snow is
getting thicker, some flakes are the size of quarters with a bit of wind coming
from the north.
So the north
wind doth blow and we ARE having snow.
Could get as much as 6 inches so they say...
It is now
1600 and the snow hasn’t let up, sometimes the flakes are so small you can
barely see them, then slowly they get large again.
Can’t see the
Klickitats or Seven Mile, top of Cherry Hts. is disappearing in the fog/cloud
and the flakes as they come down.
Outside the snow is muffling any sounds so it is very quiet.  The only thing I see moving are the birds as
they flitter from one feeder to another, then up on the telephone wire and then
into the bushes.
It is almost
like we are in our own little world.
I would be
very satisfied, I don’t have to go out in it, my brothers and sisters in blue
and brown are the ones patrolling, helping people that slide and can’t get
out.  They are the ones that have to work
in this weather – not to forget the road department employees and in some parts
of Oregon the linemen are trying to restore power, both a cold duty as well as a
dangerous one.
Yep, I would
be very satisfied, except Carla left for work and gets off late tonight.  The pickup is working just fine, it is those
that aren’t as well prepared that concern me – and then, of course, she has to
make it back up our driveway after dark.

Psalm
59:16 But
I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning:
for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my
trouble.
The
congregation sings and we feel the Holy Spirit as He stirs up our soul and
reminds us of our future.
But we can
sing every day, all day long if we desire.
It can be a praise session with just us and God, alone.
We can do it
while working, while playing, while driving, while walking; we can do it without
interfering with anyone else.
We don’t have
to have great voices, God doesn’t judge that talent, He just enjoys our passion
and love for Him.
A lot of the
singing doesn’t have to be aloud, it can be sung in the heart; it can be hummed,
it can even be whistled.
Some people
will hear the music and know what you are doing, others will have no clue.  Yes, there are times that we must be silent
or saying other things, but allow the free moments to wind up your heart and let
the soul sing praises to His name.
It will lift
the spirit and calm frazzled nerves; it will bring the Holy Spirit closer to us
and have the assurance that God is there with us.
We can make
the song our prayer, we can make it our plea, we can make it our thanksgiving,
but an important thing is what it does to our spirit – how it lifts us up past
the mundane world and gives us a touch of heaven itself.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy
nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
How can we
not praise Him all the time.
Later, Art
