Here are three examples of the
work Carla did for the wedding.
Bride’s Bouquet and the mothers’
corsages.
Vase containing not just
flowers, which are easy to see here, but pine cones and pine branches as
contained in the bouquet and corsage.
The bride did not want flower baskets.
Carla really enjoyed herself and
the bride was very happy – she tried to pay Carla, but Carla doesn’t do these
for money, she does them as a gift to friends.
They pay for the materials only; sometimes she will accept a small
stipend, but not often.
Acts
7:49 Heaven is my throne, and
earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is
the place of my rest?
Sometimes as I
do my studies, I forget the obvious – and I had forgotten this verse which gives
a good example that God is large and in charge, nothing man builds can contain
Him. Thanks for the reminder,
Janet
We know that
God created all things. We know that
Jesus walked this earth and told the people that if you see me, you have seen
the Father.
But what about
us that have not seen Jesus; how do we see the face of God? I know that He is in my heart, but I have not
seen the physical person, touched His body.
Genesis 1:26-27 And God said, Let us make
man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish
of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the
earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27
So God created
man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female
created he them.
God created two humans, one male
and one female that are in the image – likeness of God. He wasn’t concerned about color, size or
stature these two were in His image.
These two people are ancestors
of every human in the world that was, is and is to come. When we look at a mirror we see God’s image,
when we look at another person, we see God’s image. It doesn’t matter the color of his skin, it
doesn’t matter whether he is rich or poor, clothed in expensive clothes or
tattered remnants. Even the criminals
are made in the image of God.
Mathew 25:35-40 For I was an
hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a
stranger, and ye took me in:
36 Naked, and ye clothed
me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto
me.
37 Then shall the righteous
answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty,
and gave thee drink?
38 When saw we thee a
stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed
thee?
39 Or when saw we thee
sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40 And the King shall
answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it
unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me.
Everyone has the physical image
of God. While we may look different to
each other, the general characteristics of all man are the same. When we look at others we are looking at the
image of God.
But there is more than just an
image of God we should be concerned with – we see the image, but it is the heart
that God is most concerned with. He is
looking at our obedience to Him; and in serving Him we will find the reality of
God; who He is in our world.
Mathew
12:50 For
whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my
brother, and sister, and mother.
1 John
5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he
that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
There are only two kinds of
people – and they all have God’s image.
They are either saved by the Grace of God or they are not.
Those of us who are saved need
to strive to be like God in all our ways.
When we see Christians serving God, taking on the image of His goodness
we are truly seeing God, just as those that followed Christ saw Him. The love we show one another, the service we
give to one another all come from a heart turned to Him working with Him to be
perfect and holy as He is perfect and Holy.
Philippians
3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect,
be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal
even this unto you.
1 John 4:11-13 Beloved, if God so
loved us, we ought also to love one another.
12 No man hath seen God at
any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected
in us.
13
Hereby know we that we dwell
in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his
Spirit.
We see God’s image in all man,
but we see the essence of God in those that have given their life to Him. God is all around us.
1 Corinthians
8:6 But to us there is but one God, the
Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by
whom are all things, and we by him.
1 Peter 1:14-16 As obedient
children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your
ignorance:
15 But as he which hath
called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of
conversation;
16 Because it is written,
Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Lord, I want others to see all
of YOU in me. May I be a true image of
you not just physically, but in all my actions, all my conduct and all my
speech.
Later, Art :-)
