One of Carla’s friends gave her some plums, we are canning them.  As she is going through them she is finding some added protein, which we really don’t need; those are being discarded.  Looks like we will have 23 quarts – nice to have in the larder, and they sure are purty...
She will also be working on the pears, which are just right to can this afternoon.  We will be getting more peaches and she is thinking about more pears if she can get them for the price she got these.
It is turning hot, again today, into the 90’s, but even still not for as long, so bearable.  The animals are all sleeping where they can be nice and cool.  Haven’t had to put the air-conditioner on today, but it won’t be long.  The rest of the week will be cooler with 70’s at the end of the week.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Job 1:1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.
Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
We can never be perfect enough for God to allow us into heaven – yes there were men that God looked at and called them perfect; but perfect for man and perfect for God are two different things.
Throughout the centuries there have always been those that have served God to the utmost of their ability.  They followed the laws, they did their best – but they were not without sin.
Abraham, the founder of the tribes of Israel, sinned.  Job, sinned.  David, the man after God’s own heart, sinned.  Their hearts were turned towards God they did all they could under the Law, but they would not be able to enter into heaven until Christ brought them in.
When we think of heaven we think of not only no pain, no illness, but there is no sin.  None.  God wants no part of sin and wants no part of it in His Home.
Now, for those that say there are many paths to get into heaven, what are they?  If these people, who lived their lives as perfectly as they could did not get access to heaven without Christ, how can anyone else?
How much money would it take to buy a way into heaven?
Mathew 19:23-25 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
The disciples thought that rich men had special privileges – Jesus assured them they do not.  As a matter of fact they would have a more difficult time because they concentrate on their wealth and not on the things of God.
Nowhere in the Word of God does it say a person can buy their way into heaven.
How many good deeds can we offer to get our way into heaven?
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
The Word of God is clear; we cannot earn our way into heaven.
Now if we can’t be called perfect as were many in the Old Testament and gain entrance into heaven if we can’t buy our way into heaven, and we can’t earn our way into heaven, how else would a person get into heaven besides through Christ?
It is only by the Grace of God – the gift of the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus – that we may have eternal life with God in heaven.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Man can make as many excuses as he wants, he can devise all manner and means to justify his belief that all, or many roads lead to heaven BUT if he believes in God then he needs to read His Word.  If he reads his Word with an open mind and heart he can come to no other conclusion, but the ONLY path into heaven goes through Christ.
