We got a trace of rain last night, and a forecast of more to come.  A skiff of snow has fallen in some parts of the Cascades in Oregon, but mostly rain – even that is well received.
Fall is announcing its desire to make an early visit and that too is welcomed, milder weather and moisture will help the fire fighters gain control of the fires raging all about us.
Time to think of planting fall crops – most of which will mature in the Spring.  Garden is a mess this year, I haven’t been much use to Carla – hopefully that will be different as we plan for the Spring.
Romans 8:14-17 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

There are a lot of things we can be thankful for when we accept Christ, among them:
Salvation.
A birth of the spirit within us.
Communication with God.
A relationship with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Assurance of His love and grace.
Guidance and comfort from the Holy Spirit.
The infusion of love from God that allows us to forgive those that have attacked or betrayed us.
Confidence in our spiritual life.
Promise of life eternal with Him.
And heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ
We inherit all that Christ has inherited.  We are no longer just a human being lost in the crowd of other human beings; we are the children of God.
Children of God.
We have a relationship with God that no other religion on earth offers or can offer, an adoption, by God as His child by the acceptance of Christ.
While the people of the world beat their chest and boasts of great accomplishments – and some measure their worth by their ‘family name’ and ancestors - none can compare with being a child of God.
While the world forces mankind into a box and declares that man is the ruler of man; we rest in the arms of God guided by the Holy Spirit free from the burdens that sin places on man and forces them into that box.
I have heard that Christianity excludes people and therefore is shouldn’t have any say in what the world does – yet there is no exclusion.
God makes it clear that is not the case, anyone can come to Him, the ONLY requirement is that they accept the truth of the sacrifice of His Son.
John 3:14-16  And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

There are but two kinds of people in this world – those who accept Christ and those who reject Him.
There are no other restrictions. Period.
We are either part of the family, FAMILY, of God, or we are not.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Children who are imperfect, who make mistakes, who often must be chastised for our disobedience, but CHILDREN OF GOD, none-the-less.
May we take that relationship to heart, in both the love we give to God AND the love we give to each other.
Later, Art :-)
