Tomorrow shall be a long day, starts of 0400 and not sure when it ends, but hopefully with a successful surgery which I will be told of before the afternoon is very old.
The grapes that Carla received yesterday are now juiced and 6 plus quarts were obtained.  The partial quart will be enjoyed now – we tasted it before we put it into the fridge – it doesn’t need any sugar it is so sweet.
Weather is much milder, even when the days are sunny – I can handle that.  We actually got some snow on our mountains, it was just a skiff, and probably will not last, but it is a good sign.
Psalm 119:64 The earth, O Lord, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.
The Psalmist, versed in the ways of God and the teachings of God, knows that he still needs God’s hand in learning His commandments.
Too many people, joining the world’s view, believe the Commandments are the Ten that Moses brought down from the mountain.  While they are a good foundation of our understanding of what God demands of us, they are but a beginning.
God had several hundred commandments that had Jews had obey in order to be perfect.  But in addition to those He demonstrated through His orders to individuals – or orders to the Hebrews, that even these are not all of them.
I have heard the argument that we are no longer under the Law because of the sacrifice that Jesus made for our sins.  Therefore we should not concern ourselves with the commands to the Jews in the Old Testament.
But they do have relevance today.  They give guidance, they declare Christ and they demonstrate God’s mercy and grace as well as His hatred of disobedience.
There is much to learn in studying the Old Testament and the commandments of God to the Jewish nation.
Mathew 5:17-19 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Jesus wasn’t talking about legalizes where men have tried to make the Gentiles conform to the commandments of God in the Old Testament; or, that all must obey the letter of the Laws of the Old Testament.
But we must understand that God has set precedence’s and gave us a pattern to follow in order to please Him.
It also gives us a foundation that, along with the teachings of Christ and the writings of the New Testament, gives us the understanding to discern when people are trying to lead us astray as Christians.
Mathew 15:8-10  This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

With the reading of God’ Word, the Holy Spirit can help us judge what we are told – is it doctrines of man – or the actual command of God?
We do not arrive at that understanding by osmosis, or by just listening to what others have to say, we arrive at the understanding by searching the scripture, applying them as God meant them to be applied, listening to the Holy Spirit and allowing Him to teach us His ways.
In this day and age, when there are so many false teachers trying to claim our soul through the media and, unfortunately, even in Colleges that assert they teach the Bible, we need to be ever more alert to the wooing of satan.
Any lesson, any sermon, any broadcast about the Word of God needs to be compared with God’s Word and make sure the interpretation by the leader is correct and worthy of support.
