The temperatures this week are in the mid to high 50’s.  Carla is out working in her garden as I write.  She said the latest for our neck of the woods has been forecasted to have any really cold weather in the coming weeks.
While those of you back east are suffering from the cold and snow storms we are getting a bit of rain and warmer weather.  It bodes badly in the mountains where snow pack is essential for enough water this summer.
We are going to have to watch the water on our garden even closer than we have in the past.  The current drip irrigation we used will need to be changed be more concentrated on the individual plants while we won’t have to change our whole system, we will have to make some serious adjustments, and I am not too sure of just how to go about it......but we have time to figure it out.
Carla will need other help in the garden, especially for the next 3-5 months due to my imposed limitations – even now I have good days and bad, and today is more of the latter.  The kids have been good about helping, but we will be more dependent on them than I feel is fair to them.  All of us will benefit, though, from the fruits of our labor therein.
Mathew 26:12-13 For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.
13 Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

Jesus made it clear that His Gospel would be preached throughout the whole world.  He knew of course His mission on earth was about to come to its successful conclusion and that God would move on billions of hearts as time went on.
It was also a command that this story be told, Jesus deserves our finest gifts, He deserves the adoration this women gave to Him in covering Him with oil.  It was one more example of His rightful place in the hearts and minds of His followers.
In the past 2000 years there have been many such stories about the love and dedication of His followers.  We see it often in our own lives when Christians give their all to Him.  So are told from mouth to mouth, others have been written down in articles and books.  They give encouragement and help others to have the dedication to Jesus this lady showed.
It is an act of worship, an act of acknowledgement that Jesus is our Lord and worthy of praise and the best we have to offer.
We need to be crystal clear in our thinking; we need to realize that all we do is a reflection of how we perceive HIM.  If we understand in mind and heart He is the Savior, our Lord, then, no matter our job, no matter our responsibilities in the world, He will be first and foremost in our lives.
The poor need our commitment to them, the same with those that are physically and mentally abused in one way or another.  However, we still must give Jesus HIS due and never forget who He is and Who He represented here on earth.  We need to keep ourselves from being so focused on our mission that we forget who sent us.
Later, Art :-)
