Doc says I am still alive, but anemic so I am now on iron pills, gads, if not one thing it is another.  Easily rectified though, not fun getting older.
Sunny and windy today.  Windy and older along with it though, Fall has arrived.  Picked up the last box of peaches at our supplier, a few will be canned the rest eaten.  Truly enjoy those fresh fruits.
Acts 5:28-30 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

As you know by now, Houston, Texas Christians are in a real battle with satan.  These men and women and their Pastors need our prayers and support.  It is almost as if they were in a foreign country, under an anti-Christ dictator.   While the war has been raging for centuries all around us, in the past few years it has escalated here in America – and in the past few months satan and his workers have become even more bolder.
Man has been trying to shut down the preaching of the Gospel of Christ since Christ walked this earth.  Through the years governments have passed laws forbidding the preaching of certain aspects of God’s Word – sometimes they succeed for a while, but in the end those governments are destroyed.  But so are many of the people and the Christians go through times of heavy persecutions.
Cities, states and the federal government are passing those kinds of laws against God’s mandates right now.  Not only are they passing laws that make sin a right under their law, they are passing laws making it a crime to deny those rights and are striving to make laws that make it a crime to even speak up against the laws.  And they are being supported by the courts.  There are fewer and fewer places a Christian can go to get justive.
Our country is going farther and farther away from the law of God and making common sense a thing of the past.  When a male can enter a female’s locker room, shower with them, etc. just by saying he is unsure of what gender he really is, we invite crime and chaos in those rooms.  The list can go on and on, but where is common sense, not to mention common decency?  We don’t have to even discuss the Bible to see these things are wrong.
Our government, in many ways, is becoming as repressive and domineering as the Nazi’s were and the communists have been and still are.  The term ‘thought police’ would have been unheard of a decade or two ago here in America, but they are here now and it won’t be long before we will be charged with a crime for simply thinking sin is a sin, let alone saying it.
But we cannot let this world, this government come between us and God.  One of the most oppressive and violent governments in the world was the Roman Empire during the time of Christ and the early church.  That coupled with the anger of the Jewish leaders made it almost a death sentence to preach Christ – but Christ was preached.
As there are those people today that twist and turn God’s Word so that it appears to support this sinful behavior and the conduct of those that are involved in it, the early church had the same problem.  The early church was warned it would happen and were warned against listening to them.
We have an obligation to God and to those we witness to; we need to stand up for God and His Word.  No one likes to be persecuted, but we had best be ready for it, because it is not only coming, it is already here.  As the days go on the persecution is becoming even more pointed and deadly.
Men and women are losing their livelihood for their stand for Christ.  Christians are being discriminated against in almost every part of the government, whether it be our schools or our halls of ‘justice.’  It will not be long before Christians will be incarcerated for their beliefs.
We have to answer Peter’s answer to the leaders of the day, we will continue to obey God and preach His Word – all of it.  We have failed our children, we have failed our God in many ways by not speaking up in the past, by not insuring that God’s Word was dominate in our country.  We are paying for that failure now.
May God have mercy on our Nation and on us; and may we never bow to the tyranny that forbids us to speak out for God.
Later, Art :-)
