Sitting here
looking outside at a beautiful snow covered landscape. The Sky is a light blue with a hint of clouds
streaking through it.
The sun is
shining brightly on the snow, even though there are shadows from some of the
clouds, it feels just right.
The trees
covered with snow, the birds chirping away as they use the feeders, a cold
winter day that looks like a postcard.
Getting ready
for a cold night, because of the lack of clouds, we are supposed to see single
digit temperatures and then low temperatures over the next week, looks like we
won’t see anything above 30 for at least six days. We shall see.
According to
the latest news, we are reaching record breaking snow this year. Among other things the length of time it
is/will be on the ground, depth, etc.
Evidently these records go back to 1893, the community is one of the
longest keeping of such records in our area.
I am not
missing working in this, I must say. I
have spent many a day pushing cars and helping motorists as well as responding
to the multitude of accidents and not really having time to do a good
investigation. Unless it was a major
offense – reckless, drunk, suspended, etc - we just helped with the exchange of
information and let the insurance companies figure it out.
People don’t
use their heads, we had one young lady that parked her car in the south going
lane on a very busy street, a couple of blocks from where she lived, because she
had to go to Eugene the next day and she couldn’t park near her house and get
out, it would have required digging in the snow for a parking space.
She was given
a choice, move it now, or have it towed and be issued a citation – amazingly
enough she was able to get it home.
I-84 was
closed the next day, she wouldn’t have made it anyway.

Galatians 3:26-28 For ye are all the
children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as
have been baptized into Christ have put on
Christ.
28 There is neither Jew
nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for
ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
We make
things so difficult. We place people in
categories by color, gender, political affiliation, country, city, rich, poor,
nation, among just a few.
God doesn’t
do that. He doesn’t care about any of
it; all He is concerned about is the heart; if it has been purified by the blood
of Jesus and if we are willing to follow Him.
There are
just two classifications as far as God is concerned. The acceptance of His Son and recognition of
Who He, is or the rejection of His Son.
While it may
seem easier to live the way the world wants us to live, hoping that everything
is fine and we fit in – there are always those that find fault, either as a
group or individuals and we never ‘truly’ fit in with the world.
Oh, people
may think they do, but one wrong thought or statement may exclude them from the
very group they want to identify with.
God is all
inclusive; for which I am eternally thankful.
His is the
only group I am interested in.
Later, Art
