Yep, triple digits again today, should cool down a little in a day or two, but summer is officially – date or no – upon us.
Thus far, Carla’s garden is thriving.
Ephesians 3:17-19  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Have you ever been in a boat out in the ocean where all you can see is water and sky?
You know land is on all sides, but you cannot begin to see it.  How far is the land; how deep is the ocean?
They have devices that measure those kinds of distances – even 100’s of years ago a sailor could navigate by the stars – so far away.
There is a constant.  We have instruments that sound off the bottom of the sea and give us the location of reefs, rocks, valleys and mountains located under us.
We can check with GPS and get as close to an exact location that is humanly possible, and from that calculate either from the internet, or maps that show us where land is and how far away.
We can measure almost anything, now, with a click of an instrument.  How far is the moon, sun, other planets, closest star?  There are devices that help us determine that distance.
Pluto, the most distant planet – yes I know that term is in dispute, but let us just say it is a planet for sake of discussion.
Pluto is over 4 Billion miles from earth – depending on the accuracy of the equipment.  Not only is it in our solar system, but it like the rest of the planets is a small part of the Milky Way, which is a small part of the universe.
As our technology grows, so does our appreciation for the depth and breadth of the universe – it goes on farther and farther than we ever knew.
At this time there is no human device that can measure the universe, it is beyond our understanding.
Yet, it doesn’t begin to give us an understanding of how big our God is, He created all of it.
He is a spirit and being a spirit He does not have the same form that we have – although He did take our form when Christ was born.
We are made in His image, but we cannot limit Him by what we see, hear, smell, touch or taste.
It is like we are in a small row boat, sailing in a huge sea with no sight of land.  The only thing we see is sea and sky.  The only thing we hear is water lapping on the side of the boat and maybe wind.
The only thing we taste is the saltiness of the air.
What we feel is the wind on our face, the wetness of the water and the effects of sitting or standing in the boat.
We smell the water – if we are far from shore we don’t smell that same smell that remind of us of the sea when we visit the beach – and perhaps some things in the boat.
We are just a small part of all that is around us and mentally we cannot begin to comprehend how small we are and how large is the ocean.
We are limited by our physical abilities and even the instrumentation we have limits us to what our minds can understand.
The vastness of the sea is incomprehensible to us – and so is the vastness of God.
We are limited by our human understanding and by our faith – or lack of it.
But through faith we can comprehend His greatness and understand His boundless love for us.  We are limited only by our willingness to yield ourselves to Him.
Once we turn ourselves, cleansing our heart from all other things, we will work for and grow closer to Him.
What we thought, before, was impossible, becomes just another thing that is accomplished in His Name.
We have the ability to become one with God and Jesus, and in doing so we become part of His vastness, part of His breadth, length and depth.
We are not separate from God, as we are from the sea, He is in us, a part of us as we are a part of Him.
There are no limitations or measurements of His love for us – and for us as we allow Him to work inside of us.
Verses 17-21   That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Let it be so, Lord.  Amen.
