Greetings and Salutations,
Yep, in case you were wondering, another grey day in our neck of
the kitchen; so it stands out in my mind a bit.
As the weeks went on without the sun shining Dad became more and more agitated, the woods.  Temperature was hovering at 33 when I went out this morning, with rain gently falling – fortunately, not freezing.
The forecast is more of the same, for a while.  The longest I can remember without any sun was 42 days.  AND that just happened to be the time when Carla’s Dad and Mom were here remodeling the lack of sunshine was getting to him – prefer that explanation to he was ready to throw us out as he had to work around 4 kids, Carla and I in a kitchen we still had to use.
He left on a Friday, came back Monday with a whole new ‘attitude.’  Central Oregon has sunshine almost year round and the two days he was down there seemed to re-kindle his energy.
The grey doesn’t have too much of an effect on me, although I do feel a bit better with sunshine, until it is 110 degrees in the garden – then I kinda rethink it.

Romans 8:38-39   KJV  “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
These verses are very important to us, especially right now.
While our brother and sister Christians have been going through difficult times through the centuries, we in America have not been challenged as much.
We are now, and with the hatred that is going on within our country, where the slightest thing can ‘offend’ people and get others trying to ‘purify’ from all offensiveness the past and condemn those that say anything against their agenda, it may very well get worse in the oncoming months and years.
But, no matter what happens in our world.  No matter what happens in our lives, God is still consistent.
While people are demanding changes, and what is ‘okay’ today is a horrible act of hatred and offensive act tomorrow, He doesn’t change.
His expectations are the same.  His mercy and grace are the same. His love for us is the same.  His desire to bring all mankind back into His arms is the same.
Malachi 3:6  KJV  “ For I am the Lord, I change not;”
Hebrews 13:8  KJV  “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
With God, He doesn’t say one thing today and another tomorrow.  He is consistent; IF we turn to Him we will always know where we stand – it won’t be different tomorrow with Him, but as we grow in Him, we will be different.
We can tell the seasons; we can tell the speed of the earth and where we are in relationship with other celestial bodies of the universe.
We know the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.  We know it will be the same, day in and day out.  We know that the hours of daylight change and we can know to the minute what that change will be from one day to the next.
As God created a world where there is complexity, yet dependable outcomes, so He is complex, but He is constant and reliable, IF we follow Him, depend on Him, learn from Him we know He will be with us – He has never changed.
Later, Art (-:
