Yet, one more day of fog, but it
is much lighter this morning and reminds me that hidden behind it is the sun and
its light.
Nice to be reminded.
Mathew 6:8-9 Be not ye therefore
like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye
ask him.
9 After this manner
therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy
name.
We know that whenever Jesus
addressed God He called Him Father.
The beauty of our relationship
with Christ is through Him we can also address Him as Father.
We are children of God. We are the children of the King. We are brothers with and in Christ.
We are not some cast off orphan
that has no hope of inheritance; we have the promises of God that He, the
Father, has accepted us into His family.
Christ gave us permission to
address God as our Father, it is a relationship, a communal connection that
allows us to come before Him with an expectation of acceptance as a Godly father
has for a son.
Even if we have turned away from
Him, have chosen to exclude Him from our lives, He will allow us to come
back.
Luke 15:30-32 But as soon as this
thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed
for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him,
Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is
thine.
32 It was meet that we
should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive
again; and was lost, and is found.
As the father welcomed his son
who left him, he will do the same for us.
It is also important to note
that while He welcomed him home, he also told the son that had been faithful and
worked for him, that his blessing would be greater.
It is far better to remain loyal
and faithful to our Father than to turn away from Him and go our own way. We will miss out on many of His blessings
when we fail to serve Him.
Later, Art :-)
