Still trying to stay dry and warm.
2 Chronicles 14:8-12 And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.
9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.
10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.
11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.
12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.
The world is at war, not only in the Middle East, the African nations and the conflicts offering to flare up in China and Korea – but right here in America.
We understand that war is not only physical confrontations but the threat of those confrontations erupting into war; and the spiritual war going on that is not visible to the eye, but the results are the devastation satan is wrecking upon God’s children.
Christians are few in number in this world – indeed even in America, where self-possession is the primary factor to be considered.  Americans, including most Christians, are so self-absorbed that we yield to satan without even understanding what we have done.
We shiver and shake as satan’s hand moves about our land, using people, all forms of media and even the government to chastise God’s people and try to destroy God.
Wringing our hands we stand back and wonder what satan is going to come up with next, overwhelmed by the seemingly unstoppable machine that is rolling over the top of us.
America is in the same condition Israel was in many times; 2 Chronicles 15:3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
We have few, at this time, who have risen up, taken the reins and said enough, God is punishing this nation for its sins and the punishment will continue and grow greater if we continue to forsake Him.
There is hope, of course.  2 Chronicles 15:4 But when they in their trouble did turn unto the Lord God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them.
God will honor His Word and those that are dedicated servants to do His will.
As Asa was badly outnumbered, so most Christians feel we too are badly outnumbered.  If we look at the massive challenge that lies ahead it is easy to get discouraged.
However, when we truly turn to God and ask Him to take charge we will see a nation, that will once again be blessed and have the ability to help others in turmoil.
May we pray as Asa prayed; And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.
Later, Art :-)
