Not much going on in our neck of the woods, right now, have some things to do to get ready for winter.  Will be seeing Ken this weekend as he distributes beef, guess it will be a short visit and quick up and down trip.
Would like to spend more time, hopefully soon, but a short time is better than none.
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Thus begins John’s Gospel.  This was the beginning of his resume’, the opening statement, on explaining Jesus to the Jews.  The Jews knew there was a God, knew He had created the earth and all within it and now, John was telling them that Jesus was there – He is God.
He was there before Creation, He was there along with God, He was indeed God.  The rest of the book is giving them the details that show that relationship between Jesus’ life and the Word of God – a Word they were very much familiar with; they knew the foundation of their religion and the history of their struggles.
In America we have forgotten that basic foundation which is laid down in Genesis.  Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
The discourse in America today can be traced back to the denial of God having anything to say in our country.  The denial that He is the Creator and not what man claims happened.
The foundation of the American Constitution is the Bible.  Not all the signers of the Declaration of Independence were Christians and not all those forming the Constitution were Christians – however, all recognized the need to have a foundation for forming the government and the Bible provided that foundation.  Within these God given Scriptures was guidance on how to create a government that was as fair as possible to the citizens.
To be sure the Constitution is not perfect.  In order to get everyone to agree there were compromises and corrections would have to be made by later generations - and we fought a Civil War over some of those compromises.
But in order for this country to be functional, under the auspices of the Constitution, we must recognize that God is the luminary, not man; it was His Laws this country was founded upon and when we get away from that concept then anything goes, and the Constitution – and the history of America – becomes difficult to comprehend and therefor people decide it is no longer operative or meaningful.
And right now we are reading and hearing, the Constitution is outdated and no longer a viable instrument to make government decisions.  It is a ‘living document’ and instead of going through the process of change as required, it is ignored and our leaders in all phases of government accept that disdain.
God has become a nonentity, and therefore the foundation of the Constitution has been attacked and is crumbling in our society – and so is our society.
How did this all come about? I don’t profess to be an expert and I realize that it is very complicated – however, I personally believe it came about when Christians allowed God’s Word to be compromised.
Too many buy that the Religion of Evolution is valid; it has been proven by science.  It hasn’t.  Yes, that is what is taught in our schools, that is what is being accepted by far too many church organizations and Christians – and when we believe that lie of satan, then we weaken the foundation of God’s Word.
If evolution is true than the Bible isn’t.  Period.
Since many have taken that stand, then why should they obey any part of the Word of God?
They don’t know who God is, they have decided that man is in control and being in control can create his own idea of what is right and wrong.
History tells us that countries have risen up against His people and His Word many times.  Even the elite of the His people have been convinced that His Word is no longer valid – and those countries, over time, were destroyed.
God told them to turn away from evil and back to Him and His Word and they refused.  They created new gods, new means of explaining their benefits, the value of living and based their decisions on their own thoughts – denying the deity of the Hebrew God and suffering the consequences.
America has been warned by Christian leaders over and over again.  Yet, we have allowed God to become just a word to our citizens.  We have allowed God to be taken out of the equation on all political decisions and places, a person in a government position can find themselves fired (even if their message is delivered while away from the job) if they acknowledge God and many private businesses are following suit.
Because we have allowed the Religion of Evolution into our schools and society we have raised a generation that, like the Greeks that Paul preached to, have no comprehension of God and who He is – and we can place a lot of the blame on Christians who acquiesced to the pressure of false information and a denying of the importance of Genesis in the Creation and in understanding who God is – He is more than a ‘term’ He is the Creator.
Too many Christians have undermined their message of faith, by trying to twist the words of Genesis to make it fit the societal definition of creation and thus compromising the Word.
IF Genesis is not true, then why should we accept any part of the Word – our Salvation is not secure in Christ; the words He spoke are worthless – so why do some Christians decide they have to make the Bible fit the world’s vision when it should be the other way around?
We are seeing the results of not knowing who God is; riots, one “race” thinking they are better than another “race” (there is but one race – human, the color of our skin may be different, but everything else is the same,) saying all religions are of equal importance – but the fear of offending one of them because if you do they will react violently – the list can go on and on.
Decisions are being made based on what man thinks is right and denying the truth of the Word which lays down what is right.  There are no absolutes, therefore, anything is permissible.
The world, and all that is within it, the scientific evidence of even the minutest element, cell – or even the atom - is complicated, the ability of man to see it and understand how it works, the ability of the different parts to mesh together into one functioning thing, amid and helping other functioning things to do their part, testifies that there is a Creator.
Since there is a Creator He has the ability to create.  By His very nature He can plan and develop anything by whatever means He desires – and the Bible says ‘this is how I did it’ in Genesis.
The corner stone of our faith is Christ; the rest of the foundation is the Word of God.  When we start removing parts of His Word it weakens the foundation.
We need to educate those that do not know who God is, but explaining who He is and introducing Him to them starts with Genesis.
Later, Art :-)
