To our friends that have served, are serving or will be serving our country, my thanks.  The sacrifices made have made us – still – the one country that promises freedom to all who come.
God Bless and Keep You All.
Psalm 142:5  I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
How many times have we bowed before the Lord and cried out, it is enough?  We are so tired, so sick of self-serving hypocrites and judge ourselves as among them?
We are tired of the hassles of life, whether they be at work or home - it just seems so pointless, so exasperating.  We are hemmed in by our commitments to our families, to our jobs, to friends and organizations.
Everywhere we go someone wants a piece of us, they want us to do things that wear us down, that create turmoil and feelings of not being good enough.  This thing has to be done today – but so does this and this and that thing over there.
We are expected to maintain poise and calm in the face of ever increasing demands on us – how can we go on with our lives when it seems it is no longer ours, but ruled by others?
We no longer have the physical or mental strength to forge on, we are weary and just want to be left alone.  Just leave me alone, let me be, let me rest, by myself without demands.
If we truly lay it before God, let Him know all of the frustration and burdens we bear, He will become the resting place we need to rejuvenate our exhausted soul; and with it our body and mind.
He can be our refuge if we allow Him to be.  He wants us to cast our cares on Him:  1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
How often we forget He is but a prayer away, we get so wrapped up in ourselves that we let His promises slip by – we mean well, but somehow........and it is at these times, our most vulnerable, that satan strikes.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
We need to set aside time to place ourselves in His loving arms.  He really does care for us, the question I would ask is how much do we care for and trust Him?
Later, Art :-)
